This year my two favourite bikinis, or fatkinis if you prefer, are both a very similar style but from two different designers and in two different colours. This summer I am in love with the pin-up vibes these high-waist bottoms and tie-up halter style tops are giving off. They both offer a lot of coverage without making me feel like I am hiding my body. Both options make me feel incredibly sexy and like I never want to leave the pool.
First up is this stunning purple version from Evangeline Rose Swim, which offers high-quality designs that stand up to the test of time. The detailing and stitching make that obvious at the first glance. The Evangeline Rose Swim line is bright and fun for summer. I’m wearing it here with an old sheer kimono from Forever21+. This pin-up bikini comes in purple, green and black, with the former two both currently on sale.
You may recall me mentioning Evangeline Rose in my recent post, Come Sail Away, as I featured their sheet cover-up pants there. Right now, you can get 20% off your next purchase by signing up for their mailing list today. Evangeline Rose Swim targets the inbetweener with a size range from 8 – 16. I am wearing the size 16 and I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on this suit, at least one every time I wear it.
Next up is this gorgeous black version from Sorella Swim, the main differences between the two are the amount of coverage each offers, how each does up around the back, and the structure of the bottoms. The black version of this pin-up style bikini definitely offers more coverage up top and would be best for women with larger cup sizes. You can see that I show much more cleavage in the purple suit. I am wearing the 14/16 in this suit.
The black version from Sorella Swim ties around the neck and around the back whereas the purple version has a clasp at the back. I see advantages to both. I like the ease of using the clasp but I also like being able to tie it tighter for a better fit. So choose which design you prefer. Finally, the black bottoms are stretchier than the purple ones because the purple ones have more structure which allows them to stay up slightly better.
I’ve paired this suit with a scarf from Penningtons that unfortunately is now sold out, but they have such amazing sales on right now it is worth clicking through to browse. Throughout the post, I am also wearing my new fave cat-eye leopard print sunnies that I got on sale from an indie shop on Princess Street here in Kingston. All photos were taken on my new, and totally amazing, condo patio. Look at that view!
Sorella Swim and Evangeline Rose have provided me with these products as a part of our collaboration agreement so that I could demonstrate the quality and fit of these items to my readers and followers. However, you can fully trust that I will always give my honest opinion.
