Did you know that worldwide the most hated body part is the belly? Yep, if people are asked what body part they would change, the most popular answer is their stomach. People have been taught to envy flat stomachs and the people who possess them. Fitness magazines and diet advertisements have society believing that abs are the path to happiness. Well, I am here to tell you that that simply isn’t true. Since we have been taught to appreciate abs, we can be taught to appreciate soft bellies as well.
What we need to do is surround ourselves with images of bellies that we aren’t used to seeing in the mainstream media. We need to counteract the idea that the only stomachs that are allowed to be seen are thin ones. We need to see bellies of all shapes, sizes, and textures. We need to see bellies in motion, bellies that are bending and folding, bellies with big rolls. We need to see bellies with stretch marks and bellies that are soft enough to sleep on. The more we see them, the more we will learn to love them.
Our bellies are the source of so much life and we should really learn to appreciate them. We have so many vital organs in that area of our body that we literally couldn’t function without everything contained in our midsection. Many people who chose to become pregnant are able to create life because their stomachs stretch to accommodate the growing body of a fetus into a new baby. We are able to bend, fold, turn, twist, and otherwise move around because of our amazing bellies. They deserve our love!
Neon Moon has provided me with this bra as a part of our collaboration agreement. Neon Moon believes that your body makes their lingerie beautiful, not the other way around. I love that! They are sweatshop free, locally made in the UK, and a woman owned company. If you want to order a set for yourself, use the coupon code “MsLindsayM” to get 10% off your entire order. This bra is size “beautiful” which is a size 12/14 and I wear a size “fabulous” or 16/18 bottoms. Based on my normal sizes, I would size down in the top and order your normal size in bottoms.
